Another successful business year is behind KING ICT. Activities in the West have continued and numerous projects were successfully implemented for clients within the borders of the Republic of Croatia and abroad. The company said that for the past year they estimate realization of unconsolidated income of approximately 140 million Euros, a number that keeps the company in the leading position of system integrators in this part of Europe.
“Profitability of KING ICT Group has increased by several percentage points, despite a minor drop in sales revenue as compared to 2023. Advanced IT services and digital solutions have proven to be a key driver of income increase and profitability, evidenced by numerous successful projects, and more than 800 employees at the end of 2024”, said Plamenko Barišić, President of the Management Board of KING ICT.
The IT world has been marked by a kind of AI revolution, of which larger commercialization is to follow, and in Croatia more attention was paid also to EU directives related to the regulation and protection of information systems and data. For KING ICT – this was foremost a year that was marked by large and important projects.
Smart traffic, flood protection, cyber security and numerous other solutions
KING ICT continues modernizing traffic and raising transport safety in largest Croatian cities and across the entire transport infrastructure.
The project Intelligent Transport System (ITS) in the city of Split with the company Ericsson Nikola Tesla is coming to an end. By the end of 2025, Split will have one of the most modern intelligent transport systems in Europe which will reduce traffic jams and significantly increase traffic safety. For Hrvatske autoceste, KING ICT implemented one of the most complex video analytical systems for incidents detection on motorways in Europe. The systems are based on artificial intelligence, and they include approximately 2,000 cameras operating with the support of video analytical technologies. Technologies enable continuous monitoring of the condition on motorways and indicate potential incidents in timely fashion.
In air transport, the project of construction and establishment of the Safety Operations Center (SOC) was successfully implemented for Zadar Airport. This key project enables increased level of safety and resilience to cyber threats. SOC will provide comprehensive monitoring, fast detection and response to safety incidents, thereby ensuring protection of critical infrastructures and data. For Croatian Air Traffic Control, KING ICT modernized a part of infrastructure that is the basis for carrying out internal processes with utmost quality.
KING ICT has also played a large role within VEPAR project, one of the largest hydrological projects in Europe. The project includes flood risk management in the Republic of Croatia with the goal of strengthening disaster resilience. KING ICT is in charge of implementing the technical protection system of pumping stations and establishing an integral incident management system.
Successful cooperation with the NCI Agency (NATO Communications and Information Agency) has continued. Having been selected as one of two key cyber security partners for operations around the world in 2024, KING ICT continued performing responsible high-priority tasks and implementing the most modern cyber security solutions.
KING ICT provides services of alignment with directives NIS2 and DORA and other standards and good practices in the domain of cyber security.
In the banking sector, for Hrvatska poštanska banka and Podravska banka users, the processes of modernizing network infrastructure were implemented. This includes capacity increase, better network automation and safety processes, higher quality and high availability of network infrastructure. For Erste Group Card Processor, improvements were implemented in areas of cyber security and core infrastructure, which enabled the user a safer business and higher stability and efficiency in everyday operations.
In the past year, KING ICT successfully conducted a number of projects on SAP technologies, including the upgrade of the SAP ERP (S/4 HANA) system for Hrvatske autoceste, and solutions for business reporting for Hrvatske ceste, thereby additionally improving business processes and analytical capacities of users.
Successful cooperation with Zagrebački holding also continues, and KING ICT is implementing SAP S/4 HANA solution for them. With this implementation, Zagrebački holding will improve and standardize business processes in accounting, finances and controlling, and enable a uniform manner of reporting and planning, both in branch offices, and at the level of the entire Zagrebački holding.
An important innovation from KING ICT portfolio is the mobile data center, located in just 15 m2, created in cooperation with the company Schneider Electric. It represents a concrete and functional solution for organizations looking for a rapidly implemented, energy efficient and simply applicable solution for their infrastructure.
As far as software is concerned, we should mention that KING ICT systems are used year after year to successfully carry out enrollments into nursery schools, pupils and students enroll into schools and faculties digitally, without waiting in queues, and the systems also support farmers, facilitating and speeding up processes related to the payment of incentives.
Partnerships and acknowledgments, socially responsible business and internal activities
KING ICT maintained and strengthened partnerships with large global corporations, and some of the partnerships were crowned with valuable acknowledgments. In 2024, membership in the European Emergency Number Association (EENA) was renewed. The goal of this European non-profit organization is improving the quality of emergency services throughout the EU.
The culture of knowledge sharing and supporting education at KING ICT is highly important. Accordingly, KING ICT Academy, a program of free education and paid practice for students of IT and business courses, was traditionally held. Numerous workshops entitled KING ICT Weekend Workshops were also held, within which King’s experts held free workshops related to business analysis, quality assurance and programming.
Humanitarian activities are carried out during the entire year. As part of teambuilding, KING ICT donated valuable IT equipment for holding lessons at the campus within the fortress Tvrđava sv. Ivana, as well as financial resources to the following associations: Izvor ljubavi, Aurora, Ardura and ZvoniMir. Year after year, female employees choose an association to which KING ICT donates financial resources on Women’s Day. Last year they chose the association Autonomna ženska kuća Zagreb (Autonomous Women’s House Zagreb). On the occasion of KING ICT’s Christmas initiative “King dijeli osmijehe” (“King shares smiles”), the employees chose the Associations Krijesnica, VG Legacy and Kuća svetog Josipa house for orphans for donations.
Optimistically into 2025, with already 50% contracted planned business income
The year 2025 brings the uncertainty of geopolitical and economic developments, which represents a challenge for business growth and market expansion globally. KING ICT says it is important for them to maintain recognizability and strengthen the already built brand of a reliable IT services provider.
“We continue to build our story and additionally invest in specialization in domains such as cyber security, building network solutions and data centers, managing public transport and modernization of business solutions on SAP technologies. Special emphasis will be placed on consolidation, productivity and efficiency increase of software business that is now spread out over several connected organizational units within KING ICT and Omega SW and Aktivis company. More attention will be paid to strengthening market operations and unifying sales resources in the markets of Benelux, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Northern Macedonia and Serbia”, concluded Plamenko Barišić.
KING ICT says that they are starting the year 2025 optimistically with almost 50% contracted planned business income and numerous new large projects important for the society and citizens.
