Change Con 2019

This year’s fourth edition of the Change Con software conference, dedicated to enterprise solutions, brought together over 400 experts and IT enthusiasts. In addition to mingling in the premises of the Kraš factory, participants had the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience, and to present novelties and practices in the ICT world. Expert lecturers were invited from numerous successful companies, such as CloudBees, Remitly, Hazelcast, SnapTortoise, Rimac Automobiles and others.

The plenary lecture was held by Crystal C. Yan from the company Remitly. She intrigued the audience with her talk on artificial intelligence and machine learning, explaining just how statistical predictions work and how they are perceived by users. Three parallel sessions of talks followed, with 33 lecturers from Croatia and abroad speaking until 5 pm. Two workshops were also held: “Be a better BA – Common mistakes when writing specs” was moderated by KING’s business analysis Maja Golubić, while the workshop “White box and load testing of web API interfaces using the jMeter tool” was mediated by the head of KING’s testing and quality control department, Davor Banović.

This year’s edition of the Change Conference was the most diverse to date, offering something for everyone, regardless of their level of experience or role in the IT world. The presented topics examined comparative technologies, ways to improve code, optimize the performance of existing systems, apply artificial intelligence, increase the level of automation and security of enterprise solutions, and means to successfully manage remote teams and improve communications.

At the conference, special emphasis was placed on the charity aspect, and all revenues from ticket sales were donated to the IGRA society. We support this society in their efforts to implement support programmes for youth in alternative care, to help them become independent and become included in the community.
